Stabiler, sehr bequemer Rucksack, wenig Fächer

"Stabiler, sehr bequemer Rucksack.

Great pack !

"I got this for an hour and a half approach to the crag. It fits all my gear easily. Could probably fit my rope in it too but I haven’t had to yet because I leave it at the stash spot. Fits comfortably and keeps my back cool. I love it !"

My Ideal Backpack

"As a hiker and photographer, I was super excited to try this bag out. I took this pack on a week-long trip around Oregon, which included a handful of hikes ranging from 4-12 miles each. Before choosing the Ducan Spine I was torn between choosing a camera backpack for the convenience of the easy camera access, and a traditional hiking daypack for the comfort. This pack nails both perfectly for me. Most daypacks don't have the bottom/mid zip access to the main storage area, but this bag does, and perfectly fits a Peak Design Smedium camera cube which made it super convenient to access my camera gear on the trail; there was never a moment where I felt slow or inconvenienced when accessing my camera gear. I was also able to fit on a Peak Design Capture Clip comfortably on the left shoulder strap right on top of the Mammut logo. That said, this is still very much a hiking backpack with all of the comforts of being one and more. I was honestly very impressed with the spine technology. I personally tried on and compared the comfort/packability between the Ducan Spine and the Gregory Zulu 30 (which is a great, comfortable pack), but I easily preferred the Ducan Spine because of the comfort and mobility. The bag really does move with your lateral movements which you can't get on other packs even if they have a more flexible frame. I never felt like the backpack was fighting against my movements or pushing/pulling awkwardly when my orientation changed; the difference is night-and-day. Even through our longest day hike (12 miles, 2000ft elevation gain), I was comfortable carrying my camera gear (1 body, 3 lenses), layers (light jacket, pants), snacks, lunch, about 4 liters of water and other small essentials (~25-27 lbs total). With all of the adjustability options and the quality of the straps, it was super easy to find a comfortable position for the pack. Aside from those two top priorities of mine, everything else worked great. The water bottle sleeves are stretchy, wide around, and deep; I had slim water bottles (and a tripod), but these can probably accommodate wider bottles if needed. The hip-belt pockets have decent room for your phone, snacks, or even a smaller prime lens. The front mesh pocket was perfect for storing wet clothes on the trail for drying. The top and side zipper pockets worked great for holding keys, wallet, sunscreen, etc. There are also a good amount of straps and loops to connect items to on the front of the backpack. I never needed to extend the rolltop beyond its bottom position, nor use the bottom straps or trekking pole holders, but I appreciate the convenience of having the options, especially for longer hikes or possibly overnight trips (will have to test). My one and only gripe is that the water bladder hose routing hole is only present on the left side of the pack; it makes sense because on the right side you have that small zipper pocket, but with the camera clip on my left shoulder already, having the water bladder hose connected to the same shoulder strap crowds the left side a bit. Not really an issue, but it would be nice to have the option to route your hose left or right. Overall, this is a super versatile pack that fits all of my needs. I'm a fan of strong design and engineering, and Mammut definitely nailed it with this one."

Great backpack to carry some weight

"I owned Duncan Spine from previous generation and it is absolutely love the uniqueness with full of well thought out features. It did definitely improved, upgraded, added more features and now it became something so much better (except colour options this year…). Price is very good considering its quality and feature!!! Rather than dive into a good things (which you would have throughly looked into), let me point out my personal downsides. 1. Weight : it is metal frames, solid, well constructed backpack that backpack itself weighs quite a bit. But remember this backpack is really to carry load and perform. 2. Spaces : main compartment space seems little squeezed and the shape, due to contour frame, is little odd to me. It allows to pack surprisingly a lot (of small items) but I found it little difficult to pack big items (which I usually pack with a few different sizes of travel bags, vacuum pouches…) 3. Pockets : amazing to see they have improved belt pockets (finally able to put your phone) and the side pocket for water bottle and other things. And happy to see the another hidden side pocket and added mesh pockets outside!! But still the belt pockets and strap pockets is pretty useless and the size is not big/small enough to be useful (I bearly store a headlamp and i have no idea how to use best for strap pockets)…it is not that design is bad but I hope it can be better. 4. Add-ons : bag is designed in very slick way and look great, and because of that it is difficult to add other accessories. There are not enough/no hanging points for small clips, elastic straps, and/or any shoulder strap add on, including water bottle pockets and other additional pocket accessories. Some people may not want additional things hang around but it would be so much versatile to have a few hanging points, especially on the shoulder strap. 5. Bulkiness : quite large and standing is not easy. My hipbelt always spring out and widely spread when I release it (wish it more conformall round to my waist shape). When I try to put it down to the ground, not easy to keep it stand upright and always fall backward. Storage of the bag takes some space and feels bulky (as it is solid framed back). It may sound nothing ( and probably it is) but it does annoys me a bit… Other than that there are so much great, surprising feature that makes you difficult to go back to other type of back because these features are so unique and useful and super difficult to find any where else."

UNIQUE DESIGN & AWESOME FEATURES!!!

"This is my first Mammut pack and as an avid hiker/backpacker it's absolutely phenomenal in design, durability and unique features! As a retired military veteran I value good quality & durability. The spine adjustability of the padding is revolutionary, very comfortable and helps not out unnecessary pressure in my back with I have occasional pain due a surgery yrs ago. Also kike itndpesnt have an astronomical amount of straps flopping around, very streamlined and efficient. Thank you Mammut for making this one, I'd HIGHLY recommend this pack to anyone looking for a slight upgrade in a larger daypack or to fit more gear/equipment especially for the winter hiking months."
