Reviews

An awesome pants for winter.

"An awesome pants for winter. The pockets are great and easy to access with harness. Inside rubber coating at the lower leg rim is amazing. Together with the little hook does not let the snow get o inside your boots. No gaiters needed. Another great feature is the adjustable waist with Velcro. . this keeps out at place. I use them for hiking and ice climbing."

Perfect pants for Aconcagua

"Was perfect choice for my expedition, warm enough but not insulated, or if felt a bit warm, the side zippers helped to cool my legs down a little bit. The packet on the leg is in a perfect position to slide the phone on after taking a picture. Amazing quality, and love to color too"

I bought these for fat

"I bought these for fat biking in NW Montana. They are awesome! The fit is somewhere between a slim and reg fit. Not baggy, Not tight. Stretchy fleece backed fabric with all that I need for riding my bicycle. Built in mini gators with hooks stay over my footwear and keep the snow out. I've found that mountaineering, ski-mo, type clothing works great for riding your bike in the winter and these definitely don't disappoint. I'm also going to wear these for XC skiing. Great pants, fit is spot on. I wear a 30 in my Volcom jeans and I bought these in a 30. I still have room to tuck in my base layers with the adjustable waist. Get them!"

Perfect Backcountry Ski Pants

"These pants are thick enough to be durable, but light enough to be perfect for backcountry skiing. There are mesh vents on the sides that help keep you cool on the uphill and reinforced boot cuffs for climbing in crampons."

— Jen R. (5/5)

Love these for touring

"I have used these a bunch for BC touring. The 2 big pros for me are the gussets that are actually big enough to fit over ski boots and they come in a long length. Great product, great features."

— William S. (5/5)

Bequem zu tragen

"Gute Bewegungsfreiheit"

Smaller sizing than previous model

"Feels like the sizing was off from previous models. I had to size up this model. Definitely try on in person before ordering online! Still an amazing product love the built in gaiter and stretch in the pants"

— Stephanie J. (5/5)

well designed and built for performance

"The Taiss Guide SO Pants for men are exceptionally well designed and built for performance. The fabric feels premium—durable yet flexible—with excellent stretch that allows full freedom of movement during hiking and outdoor activities. They are comfortable to wear for long periods without feeling stiff or heavy"

"I like in cloudy weather"

Piece of art

"When new products from Mammut arrive always have same dilemma…wear em or look at em. Exceptional quality doesn’t matter pants, shoes or jackets. Taiss are no exception. Very functional with properly located front pockets. Side vents and integrated gaiters. Fabric feels really soft and nice next to skin. There is only one thing could make these pants super perfect…,,belt loops. I believe Mammut skipped loops intentionally to not interfere with harnesses but belt loops would make these pants over any mountain pants. Another thing want to bring to Mammut attention is seizing. After years of using Mammut products I learned always buy one size bigger. As for me their seizing is on small side. Have many shoes, boots, jackets, shirts etc bought at Mammut store or other stores here in the US and always buying one size bigger. My regular size is 36 , Xl and shoes 10,5. 36 from Mammut feels too tight. Xl to small and 10,5 shoes need to break in for long time, so buying one size bigger fit perfect."

Q&A

Welche Hose ist waermer, die Taiss Pro SO oder die Taiss Guide SO?
Hallo Dirk, etwas wärmer ist die Taiss Pro SO Pants Men. - Barbara
Will the the bottom fit over alpine ski boots?
Hi James, depends on the alpine ski boots. It definately fits over ski touring boots- - Barbara
- Barbara
Hello, is this product good for skiing',or more for skitouring?
Hi Carl, as Softshell Pants they are more for skitouring than alpine skiing. - Barbara
Any difference between taiss pro pants and taiss guide pants? Which membranes is the taiss guide use?does is stretch?
Hi Danny, the Taiss Guide softshell pants offer our collection’s most rugged weather protection. Developed for mountaineering and ski touring. The rugged 3-layer membrane fabric is completely windproof and, thanks to its PFC-free waterproofing, offers dependable protection even in the harshest conditions. The Taiss Pro offers a full range of features without any compromises. It’s the right choice for ski touring, mountaineering and ice climbing. Developed for winter conditions, the brushed double-woven fabric is warmer and softer. - Barbara
Is the thigh pocket large enough for an avy beacon?
Hi Nick, no, you should wear it close to your torso. - Barbara
