"probably the best package/deal available to start with the best avalanche safety equipment, but i really wish the shovel came with the hoe-mode version. everything else is super straight forward: the barryvox is the best beacon available and a probe is a probe."
"A stupid amount of research led me to believe that this kit would serve me best, and it was right. The beacon is intuitive, the shovel solid and lightweight, and the probe reliable. I trust this gear."
"It's just great kit. Big shovel with an extendable handle, but without hoe mode, so if you'd like that, you need to look elsewhere. The probe is well made and easy to throw together and the transceiver is peerless, although you do need to know how to use it. I'd recommend this pack without hesitation, especially on ExpertVoice."
"Exceptional avy safety equipment. The transceiver has the ability to manage multiple burials. The shovel works great at moving snow."
"this item has all the features you need : group check, multiple burial, and you can run scenarios with it. The device talks and guides you for a search in every step start to finish"
"Broke this set in with several trips across the northwest, including a multi-day trip in the coast mountains in British Columbia. Everything works as I would expect from Mammut. It's a quality, lightweight set."
"Easy to use. Also, very light and comfortable."
"Great essentials kit, everything you need to start getting into the backcountry. Just make sure to practice with it, I recommend getting lithium aaa batteries to go with the beacon."
"Went out and bought a new avalanche beacon for the season and got a new package set. After many years with a beacon from another brand. It was an incredibly smooth switch to the Barryvox S2 – sits really well on the body in the holster and doesn't get in the way and easy to use and understand. Have used the gear 20–30 times now and I'm very happy with it. Highly recommended."
"Have not had to use this in any serious way but the construction of all these products is top quality. Barryvox beacon is simple to use."
