Saved my life

"This helmet is not rated for skiing however I bought it for lightweight protection going uphill on skis with easy downhills. On one particular day I was charging downhill and came across a snowplow tilled up the snow on a blind hill in the middle of a freshly groomed ski run. Maybe it was a veteran snowcat driver covering up a rookies mistake but either way, I was going way too fast, the snowcat wasn’t visible and I hit the rough tilled up snow. I cartwheeled and distinctly remember hitting a chuck of snow with my head and summersaulting out of it. I had a good on over my helmet and didn’t realize my helmet broke until after I skinned up and out of the valley and out the other side. While this helmet is not ski rated, it did what it was supposed to and I skied away from the accident grateful. Since this accident I’m considering buying the same helmet for slow paced ski efforts but I have also bought the ski rated version for my fast downhill runs."

Light and protective!

"Love this helmet - I bought it as a light ski mountaineering helmet, but I've also used it as my main climbing helmet due to great overhead protection. The only downside I read about with this helmet was the headlamp straps being finicky, but they're not too bad. Besides, it's not often you have to attach and detach your headlamp in a day anyway!"

Broke less than a year of minor use. The design is terrible!

"Terrible design from safety perspective. The headlamp clip is the only thing that holds the entire strap system. Very cheaply made. I would not recommend this product."

Kept my head safe from falling rocks

"Comfortable, very light weight, nice adjustments, kept my head safe from falling rocks at the crag. Yay"

Incredibly Versatile & Lightweight

"The Wall Rider MIPS is a shining example of a lightweight, versatile climbing & mountaineering helmet. It has stellar safety and an incredibly comfortable fit. Also very easy to fit a headtorch too. It's ridiculous to think it can be so lightweight and durable at the same time."

— James (5/5)

Ultra light weight helmet

"I love how light weight this helmet is. Great for taking backpacking when there are some sketchier climbs or hikes that may require a helmet (some class 3 and 4s)"

— Kelvin F. (5/5)

Great lightweight helmet, but headlamp plastic attachments broke

"I have climbed many times in this helmet, and I love the fit and adjustability. It's also very lightweight, however my only complaint is the durability of the headlamp clips. They broke easily, but Mammut customer support was quick to provide a replacement."

— Thomas B. (5/5)

Fantastic comfy helmet

"This is the first helmet that I’ve really felt comfortable wearing all day. It stays in place and doesn’t slip when I look up. The straps are nicely adjustable both at the chin and for around the head. I typically wear my hair in a ponytail while climbing and this helmet is compatible with a variety of placements, I just can’t do a super high ponytail. It’s also comfy with Dutch braids. My original helmet lasted almost 5 years before taking a solid chunk of rock and earning retirement. Got the same helmet to replace it right away."

Great lightweight helmet

"Fits me perfect, and is nice and light. I do question the importance of MIPs on a climbing helmet but better is better for head protection"
