"Parfait!"

Reliable and well featured

"I got this bag after previously using have the free 28. Having a frame, adjustment straps, and hip pockets has been incredible. I love the full opening main pocket. The pack works more like a 35 liter capacity, especially with the airbag taken out and I have used it for freeriding and some true mountaineering expeditions in the Teton's. The only things I dislike about the pack is that the avalanche pouch is within the main compartment requiring an extra step to access, and the lack of compartmentalization within the main compartment. Overall a great medium sized pack, ready for any adventure!"

Poor quality

"Replacing my old Mammut PRO X 35 with Tour 30. First I noticed - avalanche pocket is inside main pocket. You have to open main pocket to get to the zipper of avalanche gear. Avalanche pocket is small - it barelly fits the blade of proper shovel - Alugator Pro light (https://www.mammut.***/si/en/products/2620-00140-2149/alugator-pro-light). Pocket on the bottom side of backpack has limited use - I could fit Petzel Irvis hybrid crampons at home. but on terrain when the pack is full getting them out and back in is difficult. Too small to fit skins (from 188cm long, and 106mm under foot skis) - so they need to be stored in avalanche pocket. All those things I probably could get used to but after first diagonal ski carry the backpack got two holes! This is not acceptable (the old one didn't have problems with that after many many tours, and a lot of verticals - attaching the same way)."

A smaller alternative to my Tour 40

"I have the tour 40 for work (and bought a small fleet for my staff). I wanted something smaller for those short day tours into avalanche terrain. Definitely a bit more challenging to get everything to fit into the smaller space since the cartridge and balloon occupy some of the space. Having said that, I am glad that I have the option of the bigger and the smaller pack. If you need room I would suggest the tour 40 is better for a lot of gear. The 30 is my go to for the faster lighter alternative"

So the backpack is great

"So the backpack is great and all, much smaller system than my old BCA, but I was expecting a cartridge in with the pack. Nowhere on the description does it state “cartridge not included”. So now I have to buy another thing. But overall the backpack works great. Took it out on a backcountry snow machine rip around in AK today. Weight is good, doesn’t move around and stays firmly on my back. But yeah that canister thing is a goober."
