Great Shell, Performed Well Week 1
"Did a week in France, -8C temperatures and heavy snow. Waterproofing was flawless. Maybe slightly less windproof than the most robust Goretex shells, but it did more than well enough. Definitely the slimmer European style, though I'm a big guy (182cm 90kg) and a large fit me fine.
The fabric has a nice bit of stretch to it, which I appreciated. For me, worthwhile tradeoff compared to stiff, crinkly Goretex. No regrets on purchase!"

"I ordered the Stony HS Shell for a lighter jacket to deal with the Spring skiing conditions that started in February all across the western US. The shell is a premium product - I wear it in temperatures down to 10F with two layers, and it has plenty of well placed and accessible pockets. Hood is perfect for when the wind is really whipping. Very satisfied with this buy - my only minor complaint is that the embroidered logo is starting to fray after less than ten days on the mountain. Small gripe on a superior product - highly recommend it."

Great jacket - wish the hood's chin area was softer
"I loved my old Stoney jacket (now 15 yrs old), and this one is even better in terms of fit (M is nice and slim though it feels a little long) and waterproofing. Love the left chest pocket for my phone (in the old jacket, phone would shift sideways because the pocket was bigger - mild annoyance). My only complaint is that the chin area isn't very soft with the zipper pulled all the way up."
