Mammut Project 360
Five years ago, Mammut has been documenting some of the worlds most iconic mountain climbs in 360 for their Project360. For the Eiger Nordwand ascent, the team even shots 360 videos of six different stages of the climb.
Section 1: 2750 m
This extremely exposed section is named after Andreas Hinterstoisser, who mastered it first. Today, fixed ropes are installed on the traverse.
Section 2: 3450 m
The name says it all: a vertical chimney, often icy on the climbable side, otherwise unpleasantly wet. The many climbing expeditions have left lots of visible crampon traces.
Section 3: 3550 m
From the valley, this section looks like a giant spider. It is one of the last and most dangerous key spots on the wall, exposed to constantly falling rock and ice. Use your phone for the best 360° experience.
