Lightweight but shaky and not reliable.

"Just opened the package, and the very first try unfolding the handle, the clip that secures the stop to unfurl the shovel is dismantled and get lost inside of the tube. Imagine that happening while rescuing during an avalanche. I've fixed it and seems to work for several tries until it is dismantled again. The thing I don't get is despite the promotional video clearly shows there should be two holes for two secure clips, the actual shovel only have one security clip in one side. The shovel also shakes in between its parts. It's indeed ultralight, but for the price, I honestly feel it still have work ahead for improvement."

Great Ultralight Shovel

"Great spring time shovel. Very light. Small compact blade. I choose to use a larger one in the winter."

This shovel may be small

"This shovel may be small in size, but it is impressively lightweight, making it easy to handle and maneuver. Despite its compact design, it performs just as effectively as a larger shovel when it comes to digging. I have personally used it to dig several test pits, and it has proven to be just as capable and efficient as a full-sized shovel. Additionally, its size does not compromise its functionality—it's still large enough to move substantial amounts of snow quickly and efficiently, making it a reliable tool for winter tasks."

"Used this on an avy course digging snow pits. It moved a lot of snow easily, and fit my hands comfortably"

Light and great size

"The other review mentioning the shovel is “small” is somewhat accurate, but not a negative depending on what you are using the shovel for or your situation and type of snow. Hopefully my photo shows scale and comparison to mammut’s other shovel. This thing is super light, high quality, and feels sturdy. I like this ultralight setup for easy day tours or resort skiing - building jumps or minor avy rescue (small slides). But it’s important to know your environment, if you have super heavy snow like the PNW and risk or larger slab avalanches or deep burials, it’s likely better to go with a shovel with more surface area. I’m not ski patrol, but it is something touched on in avy training (also important in considering probe length). I’ve had a few shovels, both Mammut, G3, and black diamond. Black diamond is shit, G3 was heavy but burly, and I feel like Mammut really shines in high quality low weight products I feel confident in for avalanche rescue or general use. Wow. Light but X-small

"Was pretty excited when I read the specs on this shovel. I received it and was pretty surprised at how small it is. Similar to the Black Diamond Deploy 3 that I carry for inbounds skiing. Better than not carrying a shovel at all but it would take a long time to move much snow with such a small blade."

Dynamite comes in small packages

"This little shovel is rad. Seems really strong given the extreme lightweight. Great job to the people that made this shovel."
