My Eiger Nordwand review same harness just 4 gear loops instead of 2

"(read bottom for final verdict) First off, the durability for what I have been doing has been great. I mostly have only done sport climbing and the like. I did some arborist stuff for a neighbor with it when it was all I had, and now it is stained with white pine sap. For the two years I had it, I've done maybe 8+ trips around the Us and Europe, so maybe something like 300ish cycles of tying in and whipping. With that, there has been almost no visible wear and no indication of it running out of life. I personally went with the one with more gear loops for the versatility and nothing else really. This and the Sender are, in my opinion, the lightest and most flexible harnesses on the market and, for the price, unbeatable. This has been the case for whatever alternatives I could find; anything similar was for some reason more expensive, a significant margin. TLDR: I will buy this again, and it's 100% been worth it. Update: As of August of 2026 (purchase May 2024) the bottom tie in point sheath has blown, the stitching was what went. The upper tie in point was totally fine. My theory is that the tighter angle on the bottom has some wrinkles that put more stress on the single line of stitching that holds the sheath on. So when the rope rubbed up on to it, it failed first. Since the design is the same across all their sender light harnesses I would assume the same issue may happen across the lineup."

I mostly used this harness

"I mostly used this harness for indoor climbing, i have a couple years experience but mainly casual climbing. The harness is incredibly light, but provides plenty of support. Packs down great to fit in my bag too. Only concern is that the harness doesn’t provide a ton of room for varying sizes. Having trust in your gear is important while climbing, and you can definitely put your faith in this equipment."
