Clean means careWhen it comes to outdoor jackets, many people believe wearing a dirty one is a sign of a true adventurer. What that dirt, sweat and body-oils could actually be doing is aging the jacket before its time by affecting the jacket’s membrane and water-resistance. With this guide, we wanted to show you how to best wash your Hardshell Jacket to both prolong its life and also its functionality. In this case, keeping your jacket clean means care - and means your jacket will be able to look after you longer in turn.
The below guide is a simple step by step we recommend for all MAMMUT Hardshell Jackets.
Step 1Before anything else, be sure to check all pockets on your jacket are empty before zipping them closed. Fasten all straps, vents, buttons – including the main zip down the front – ease any tension from drawcords and loosen and secure any Velcro cuffs. Be sure to dust and shake off any caked-on dirt that you can see. Think of this step like preparing your jacket for a showroom, ready to be put on display in a store before you put it in to be washed.
