Our Barryvox® devices boast one of the largest search strip widths on the market: 70m for the Barryvox® and up to 100m (in analog mode) for the Barryvox® S.
Powerful search performance can save lives in the backcountry, which is why we insist on serious power from our transceivers. A larger range means that buried transmitters are detected faster, search paths over the avalanche are shorter and rescue times are reduced. With an effective search strip width of 70 meters, the Barryvox® is one of the most powerful transceivers on the market.
Because there’s no time to check the manual when every second counts, Barryvox® devices are specifically designed to be easy to use under extreme stress.
From an easy-to-read display, to a button that can be operated while wearing gloves, shock-proof and break-proof housing, and intuitive acoustic search guidance the Barryvox® shows that powerful performance doesn’t need to be complicated.
The 2.0-inch display guides you quickly and reliably through each stage of the search with intuitive distance and direction signals.
Find your target faster. Search easily and quickly with the tried and tested performance of the Barryvox®.

"This was the first beacon I purchased to start my Back country expeditions. It’s super simple to use and will save my life one day. Definitely worth the money. Battery lasts super long. The chest strap system fits around my body really comfortably. Would recommend!"
"Does the job and looks pretty cool. Easy to use and understand."
"Great unit that holds its own when it matters most. Have been used in multiple practice scenario rescue operations. Clear, concise, and accurate information. Has surprisingly long battery life, and I often find myself changing the batteries far sooner than the unit would tell me out of old habits, I suppose."
"Great cost friendly beacon. Used this plenty of times in the backcountry, it has never failed and has always been reliable. Sometimes it is hard to get it back into the case when strapped to your chest. Great for beginners or experts alike."
"I bought two of these to use while taking my girls snowmobiling, the display is large and the functions are very easy to use helping both beginners and experts quickly adjust from send to find mode. Overall we are very happy with these transceivers and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good reliable avalanche beacon."
"Dependable and easy to use"
"Taken it many times in the back country, works great, simple to use."
"Industry professionals consistently give Mammut high marks for their transceivers, and the original Barryvox sets the standard for a user-friendly and effective rescue device. Lacking complex features, this unit does everything you want it to and is one of the most common options on the market. While newer more advanced versions exist, this one still contains all the modernity you need for a long tenure of recreating."
"a classic and reliable unit for your average backcountry adventurer"
"Love this beacon. I use it for recreation and training for work. It is easy to use, easy to understand, has a great range and is very reliable. The only reason I rated it a 9 instead of a 10 is it can sometimes take a little longer to update the readout when traveling too fast. The fix to this is to be slower and don’t overrun your readout. Overall, one of the best beacons I’ve ever used"
