From waste to warmth

Lightweight, breathable, and reliable even when wet, Mammut LOOPINSULATION jackets are built with 100% recycled insulation from industrial rope production offcuts and recycled PET. Made to keep warmth close through shifting temperatures.

Process

  • Collecting rope offcuts

Polyester-based rope offcuts from industrial rope production are gathered – materials that would otherwise be discarded.

Tangled colorful Mammut climbing ropes in various patterns and colors against a light background.
  • Transforming materials

These offcuts are then untangled into single strands which are brushed together and combined with recycled plastic.

Hands crafting a blue Mammut mountaineering jacket, featuring fabric and stuffing, with scissors and a ruler in the background.
  • Creating insulation

The end result is fluffy polyester sheet padding and cluster fill, which creates warming insulation for our jackets.

Great active mid layer

"This is a great layer that I use for ski touring. I used it this winter on a trip to Austria, it made for a great technical layer when traveling on the glacier. I run warm and it’s better than most mid layers that don’t breathe. I originally bought a size large and had to sell to a friend because it was too big. The medium fit well but is slightly tight in the back, it hasn’t been an issue yet, but fyi for people in between sizes."

IGreat for skimo and climbing

"À very versatile piece, both a third layer in cold days, and second layer in mild days. Seems pretty robust, and very light and compact. My go to jacket now!"

— Olivier G. (5/5)

Great jacket, fits well, looks great, lightweight

"Really nice on its own as well as a liner under a hard shell"

— Lee K. (5/5)

Sehr schön warme Jacke

"Die Jacke ist sehr schön, hab es nicht bereut es bestellt zu haben, passt genau richtig und vor allem kann man es gut in den Rucksack verstauen."

— Latif W. (5/5)

Amazing jacket

"I use it for ski mountaineering, really great jacket! combined with a breathable mid layer. No sweat on the ascent, nice and dry. Worm and cozy on the way down. Ultra light to pack it up!"

— Davide c. (5/5)

Light but warm

"I like lighter jackets, as I don't like bulking up while skiing. This jacket folds up small and is convenient for travel. It's warm, but you need layering if it's very cold. That's okay, because I prefer layering."

— Daniel (5/5)

Jacke mit Verbesserungspotential

"Wie immer gute Qualität. Leider fehlt auch hier wie bei der Sender-Jacke der Kordelzug unten wie bei manch anderer vergleichbaren Jacke. Dann wäre sie perfekt."
